Comments by Lucky Stephen Onyah, Nigeria:

Am humbled to get the chance to read a brilliant collection of poems from a world renowned writer,
Ram Krishna Singh.

"AGAINST THE WAVE" caught my attention and at first sight wondered for possible reasons behind the title. Yet as I opened the first page and slowly began to feast patiently the theme began to emerge. Now this a trait of a master weaver of words who consciously create a desired perception and consistently follow through.

This excellent work comprise of different genre of poetic pearls and I will gladly recommend to all lovers of poetry to grab their copies now. For such creative voice springing forth from this highly celebrated book is simply a standout amidst all else.

the god fire
in the soul forces back
my secret fall
i feel the retarding weight

travelling back
from the waves of bliss
a foam_leap

Wrinkles on the skin
remind me of time's passage
year by year travelled
long distances renewing
Spirit and waving goodbye

crowded streets
moving among the years
Wretched faces

TEST

Lonely December
aren’t I immune?

antibody test
before boarding

uncertainty continues
no silence helps

virus more mighty
than gods in politics

don’t know if I can meet
children before the year-end

to celebrate birthday
or continue journey

in flurry living
each day a grace

NEW GODS

Meditation --
future uncertainties
beyond crisis

new strains, new virus
villains of the  new order
peeking from windows

create new mantras
for life to continue
envision new gods

AVALANCHE and CLAY DREAMS translated into Arabic

1.

AVALANCHE

 Time's wrinking fingers

 trivialise the sun and snow

in a crooked land

I see history crippled

with midnight dyspnoea

the green umbrella

hosts disaster:

the avalanche waits on its shoulders

the wound opens

--R K Singh

Translated into Arabic by

Mostapha Moujahid, Casablanca, Morocco

 2.

CLAY DREAMS

They make my face

ugly in my own sight

what shall I see in the mirror?

there is no beauty

or holiness left

in the naked nation:

the streams flow dark

and the hinges of doors moan

politics of corruption

I weep for its names

and the faces they deface

with clay dreams

--R K Singh

-----------
